Casual Valentine’s Day Look

Love is in the air!!!  Even though Chauncey and I won’t be going out on our typical Valentine’s Day date, we still plan on celebrating at home this weekend. Regardless, you know I’m not missing a chance on getting dressed up for a holiday. Here’s a casual Valentine’s Day look perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day at home.

lightweight red sweater // straight jeans // white quilted bag with top handle–20% off this weekend // espadrille sneakers–20% off this weekend // Kendra Scott Ansley long heart necklace c/o // Kendra Scott Ansley heart earrings c/o // Kate Spade pink sunglasses // Kendra Scott heart ring // pink and red headband

Since we’re “last minute” here when it comes to putting together a Valentine’s Day look, I wanted to pull something together that would be easy to recreate. I think a lot of you will have a red sweater and jeans in your closet that you can easily find.

To be honest, this whole outfit is a mood that I’ll be rocking all spring.  Lightweight sweaters are great for layering. The one I’m wearing is the perfect red. I have a long torso, so it’s not as much of a tunic fit on me as it shows in the pic. If you want a more oversized fit, size up 2 sizes (I sized up one and it’s still not “oversized”).

Now, I know my fellow Millennials are all in an uproar over the skinny jeans debate. I’m here to tell you that straight leg jeans aren’t that bad. The main difference is that while they’re still more a slim fit, they don’t hug your ankles super tight, and that’s OK. The pair I’m wearing here is a great way to try the trend. And I love these jeans paired with my new espadrilles sneakers. Y’all, these espadrilles sneakers are so good! Wear them without socks to highlight your ankle. The neutral color will carry you through most of the year.

As for the rest of your look, add in accessories that are red, pink, or have hearts! We’re all about a theme here, and this is the time to embrace it:)

I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day! If you have littles, here are some simple ideas of how to celebrate Valentine’s Day with kids.
