Dressing Up Smocked Waist Shorts

One thing that I’ve learned in quarantine is that buttons on pants are unnecessary. Seriously. The elastic-waist trend couldn’t have arrived at a better time. I’d like to thank whoever pushed that trend through for their fabulous foresight. Here’s how to dress up smocked-waist shorts.

ruffle neck top (different style in pink shade) // smocked waist shorts–on sale for $12 + back in stock in all sizes! // Tory Burch Miller sandals with metal logo (without the metal logo) // Sugarfix flamingo head earrings // Tory Burch quilted bag (smaller version)

It’s easy to dress-up smocked waist shorts.  You’ll want to pick a more “blouse” type top.  Here, I’ve picked a silky-feeling top. Tuck that top in all the way around to show off the smock waist, and give your waist a more defined look.

Add some bold accessories.  These flamingo head earrings freaked me out at first, but they’ve grown on me. I definitely think this is more of a sandal look, so I picked sandals with gold accessories to elevate my look.

To complete the look, toss your hair up so that you can show-off your neckline and jewelry. Remember that the whole vibe this summer is more casual, even when you’re “dressing up.”
