Happy Friday, friends! I’ve been so excited to share this floral smocked dress for summer with y’all. It hit me as I was editing these shots that it’s probably because it has total Pretty Woman vibes.

Smocked dresses (and smocked tops) are very on trend for this summer. This off the shoulder smocked sundress is feminine, flirty, and fun. It’s very versatile, and I could envision wearing this dress almost anywhere. Think about it–take off the hat and pull up the sleeves to even be able to wear it to the office. As tall as I am, I really appreciate the length on this dress. You can see from the side shots that it falls a little longer in the back, which is great for not showing your butt when you bend over (you know I keep it real around here).
When it comes to jewelry with a smocked dress, I recommend forgoing a necklace and adding statement earrings instead. Straight necklines are always a little funny when it comes to necklaces, but you don’t want even a choker style necklace to compete. These bow faux pearl earrings are the perfect little “something-something” to compliment the look.
The finishing touches, however, are what makes this such a chic summer look. Here, I teamed up a raffia sunhat with frayed edges with raffia sandals. You want a mid-size heel with dress to elongate your legs, and the natural tone of the sandals give that endless leg vibe. These accessories also give the look a very romantic feel–especially the sweet touch of the cream ribbon on the hat.
