High Five for Friday

TGIF!  Okay, guys–where did December go?  I can’t believe that Christmas is NEXT WEEK.  I promise I’m getting my tree up tonight (I’m terrible at the holiday thing this year).  Let’s recap my favorite things about this week:

1. I GRADUATED for the very last time.  On Saturday morning, I walked through the graduation line for my MBA:)  We didn’t get any great pics, because Kane was throwing a fit, but it was nice to have my little family there.

2. Saturday night, I went to my company’s Christmas party.  Jimmy Rose, from America’s Got Talent, was the entertainment for the night and he did awesome!  I’ve worked for the company for something like 8 years total now, so I had tons of fun seeing a lot of the people I used to work with but don’t get to see anymore.

3. I recapped Kane’s Santa pics on the blog, and gave my advice for pictures with Santa.  Please check out my child’s fist.haha

4. My favorite outfit from the week:

I had to lighten this pic some so that you could see the color of the shoes:)

5. Also, for those who don’t follow on Instagram, I had to share this story.  I was standing in line at the post office, mailing out my various blog/IG Christmas exchange stuff, and the line was lllooonnggg.  So I decided to take a picture holding my packages and post it to Instagram.  The older lady in line behind me became very concerned.  She started peering at my camera, asking what I was taking a picture of, etc.  I tried to explain to her that it was for Instagram, but she didn’t get the concept.  She said, “So you’re just going to post a picture of you standing in line??!”  Why yes, ma’am, I am.  She was very suspicious.  I had to hold back the laughter.

Speaking of exchanges, I received my mug from Cup of Tea and Coffee with Caitlin‘s Mug Swap. Savannah from Sincerely, Savannah xo!  I’ve always thought these camera lens mugs were neat, so I was super excited to received one.  It’s perfect to carry to work, as it has a lid:)  Thanks, Savannah!!!

I'm so proud of you and all that you have accomplished. I love the fact that you met Jimmy Rose and I absolutely love Kane's picture with Santa. It's hilarious! He takes after him mom 🙂

Thanks:) It has really helped to have my blogging friends as cheerleaders, because this semester has NOT been easy.

The reason I decided to get my MBA was because my job is so intertwined with the business side of things, and I have a BBA. In my mind, it made sense to get it because it really complemented my job, and added value to my services. So I think the most important thing is making sure that there's value added– ask yourself what do you hope to achieve from the masters? Then, I would talk to an advisor to see if getting the masters will help you to achieve that objective. For example, I think my MBA has (so far, since I began classes) helped me to truly see why certain terms are necessary in contracts and to think outside the box to reach creative legal solutions that meet the business objective. I've also built on my marketing skills, which I have also found to be super useful in my current position. I hope this helps some, but if not, shoot me an email:) Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well, lovely!

High Five for Friday

Hellllloooo, Friday!  TGIF!  As I’m typing this, I’m looking back on my week wondering where it went to so quickly.  I double-checked with several people yesterday to make sure it was Thursday, because it didn’t feel like it.   Anyways, we’re here, we made it, and I’m not complaining.  Let’s recap the week:

1.  As I mentioned last Friday, I spent a weekend at the beach with some of my best friends (2 from law school and 1 from undergrad).  You probably know by now how much I love Tides Folly Beach, and if you don’t, check it out here.
Last morning on the beach.  I ALWAYS take a picture in a UK shirt on the beach before I head home!
We all had a great time, with a healthy mix of beach and historical places.  Yes, I’m a history nerd and a beach bum!  If you missed my post about Boone Hall Plantation, you can catch that here.  I’ll also be posting about Drayton Hall in the next week or so.  In the meantime, check out this awesome house/bed & breakfast along the Battery in Downtown Charleston–totally swoon-worthy!
2. I was so excited to get home and see Chauncey, Kane, and my cats!  I needed the getaway, but the best part is always coming home.
3. I left summer on Sunday morning and drove straight home to fall on Sunday night!  It’s been cooler in the Bluegrass, which means I’ve gotten to break out some new fall clothes that I picked up in Charleston.
Skinnies: JCP Skinny in Medium Wash ($19.80 online)–I picked up 3 pairs for $10 by combing coupons,  Details here
Necklace: Very Jane (similar for less than $3!)
Shirt: Old Navy, unavailable online (similar).

Loafers: Coach Outlet, $41 (gift from my mom last year).

4. Since the weather is turning cool, my friend and I took advantage of the sunny day yesterday and had lunch on the patio of Old Chicago.  Great food and a nice breeze!
5. Walmart is launching a seasonly beauty box 4 times a year!  The box is free, you just pay $5 for shipping.   I know that everyone was really sad to miss out on Target’s last beauty bag, so I hope you all get in on this deal! Thanks to Della Devoted for the heads-up!

Before you go, I’d like to take the time to thank you for stopping by.  Wednesday was my 6-month bloggerversary! I’m so thankful for each and every one of my readers, as well as the new friends I’ve made along the way!

We just booked our plans for a trip in May for one of my besties weddings down there!! It's the same weekend as our anniversary so the hubs and I are going to try to sneak in a date night while we're there!
