Summer Skincare Routine for Glowing Skin

My skin changes with the seasons. Now that summer is approaching, I’ve been looking to change up my skincare routine. Right now, my skin is pretty normal with some mild acne, and of course I always have aging concerns. The current beauty trend for summer is glowing skin, and that starts with your skincare routine.

Pixi Beauty sent over a package containing products from their new Glow collection, and they were exactly what I had been looking for. I’ve been using the products for several weeks now, so I wanted to share what’s become my summer skincare routine for glowing skin.

With the exception of the pHenomenal Gel, all of the products contain Glycolic Acid, which helps to exfoliate your skin, along with other products to help energize, soothe, and brighten (depending on the product)

Step 1 is to cleanse your skin using the Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel. I use a dime size amount on a cleansing brush (avoiding my eyes), and then rinse with water. While the product does contain glycolic acid, it’s not harsh on my skin. Note that everyone’s skin is different, and you may want to consult with your dermatologist before using new products. It also contains Moisclean to help moisturize and aloe vera to soothe your skin.

Step 2 is to tone your skin using the Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Toner. This is a new step to me–I don’t know that I’ve ever used a toner before in my life. To use the toner, apply some to a cotton pad and rub it on your face. I like to continuously rub the pad on my face until it starts to feel a little dry.  It contains glycolic acids for exfoliation, ginseng to energize, and aloe vera to soothe.

Step 3 is to apply Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Serum to refine your skin. You should always apply products to your face from thinnest/most lightweight to heaviest for maximum benefits from the products, so start with serum. Like the toner, the serum contains glycolic acid, aloe vera, and ginseng. You just want to use a couple of drops, and gently massage it into your face with your fingertips.

Step 4, the final step, is to moisturize. For a lighter option (and if your skin is more oily), I use a dime-size amount of the Pixi Skintreats pHenomenal Gel. This contains horse chestnut to hydrate and smooth, aloe vera to soothe, and citric acid to balance and brighten. For a more heavy option (and if your skin is more dry), I use the Pixi Beauty On The Glow Moisture Stick. It contains Vitamin D2 to protect and brighten, ginseng to energize, and glycolic acid to exfoliate. You can also use these two in combination with each other. I really like the moisture stick because I can throw it in my makeup bag and it’s perfect for travel.

Honestly, my skin felt amazing from Day 1 of using these products together. I could touch my skin and feel the difference. I think it felt more plush, and definite less dry. Together, they give a very glowy look that’s exactly what I was going for this summer.

The best part is that all of these products are each less than $25, and right now, when you spend $20 on beauty products at Target, you get a $5 giftcard.
