While skinny jeans aren’t quite dead, they are not the jean of the moment right now. [Moment of silence for skinny jeans.] Wider leg jeans are back with a vengeance and the it jean for spring and summer. I’m not tossing my skinny jeans out just yet, but I have had several pairs of straight jeans to my closet. When trying new trends, I like to pick up affordable pieces to make sure I like it before I invest in something more expensive. I found two pairs of straight leg jeans ($29.99 and $34.99, respectively) that are so good if you want to try-out the straight leg jeans trend.

This may be the only time you ever see a full rear picture of me on the blog, but these jeans look great from behind! If you’re buying straight jeans, go all-in on the 90’s trend resurgence with a pair of acid wash straight jeans. I’m pretty sure my mom had an identical pair in her closet when I was little. I love the wash and the fit of these jeans. They’re a thicker material and feel way more expensive than they are. If you’re in-between sizes, size up. If acid wash isn’t your thing, these come in 3 other washes.

This pair of destructed straight jeans come in a little more expensive at $34.99. They’re the same brand as above, and are feel more expensive than the price tag. The wash is less trendy than the acid wash above, but still a lighter wash. Avoid dark wash jeans right now. If you cut the hems a little jagged, they would be a dupe for a popular brand of jeans that are almost 3x as much.

Both of these pairs of straight jeans are great for midsize people. Between the two pairs, I like the overall fit of pair #1 better, along with the length. I snagged a regular length in both, but like them to hit more like the first pair. Definitely pay attention to measurements when ordering online.

What do you think? Have you had a funeral for your skinny jeans yet?
