When I was little, my mom used to tell me that fashion cycled every seven years or so. As an adult, I’ve learned that she was right. Trends never go away forever (no, not even acid wash). They come back again and again, reinvented each fashion generation. This fall, I’m definitely feeling some vintage vibes with tie dye and flared jeans.

To be honest, while this look has a 70’s vibe, it also has a late 90’s/early 2000’s vibe, because I loved tie dye and flared jeans in high school. I remember buying a tie dye tee at Joe’s Crab Shack on a trip. And every girl that graduated circa 2000-2006 knows that Mudd flared jeans were where it was at (class of 2005 here). Fashion should make you feel something, and sometimes, that something is nostalgia.
This fall, look for tie dye in more muted or darker color ways. The teal, rust, and cream combo I’m sporting here is fall encompassed in a tie dye shirt. Throw on a pair of darker wash flares, and layer on some necklaces. The Kendra Scott Davie multi-strand necklace I’m wearing here has been on repeat (see it here too) and really centers the whole look.
