Wardrobe Re-Wear: Transitioning Neons to Fall + the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale

This post contains affiliate links + gifted items.

Hi, friends! Yesterday was the first day of the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale, which was formerly know as the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale. Like the APS, the end of summer/fall Sunshine Sale is a two day event, so you can still shop it all day today. This is a great time to snap up some Lilly Pulitzer pieces at excellent price points (for the most part). I thought it would be fun to do a Wardrobe Re-Wear post showing TWO OUTFITS featuring the Gigi Ruffle Tank, and I’m sharing both looks today.

BOTH LOOKS: Lilly Pulitzer Gigi Ruffle Tank (still in stock here, but not on sale–try calling some corporate/signature stores) // Kendra Scott 18K gold vermeil + diamond necklace // Tory Burch Kira quilted shoulder bag

LOOK 1: Lilly Pulitzer buttercup shorts in Multi Tropical Punch // Kendra Scott seashell huggie earrings c/o // clear studded sandals–$15

LOOK 2: favorite denim jacket–under $25 // similar headband // Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag // Lilly Pulitzer Luxletic skort (other Luxletic skorts/skirts on sale here) // braided sandals

LOOK 1: Bright End of Summer Look

For Look 1, I styled my neon Lilly Pulitzer Gigi Tank in a kicked-back casual look for the last days of summer. This is probably the easiest Lilly Pulitzer outfit to put together for Lilly newbies–a fun patterned pair of shorts and a coordinating solid color top. If this is too much for you, you could tone it down some with a white or black top, but why would you want to? You’ll want to size up in the tank.

There’s a lot of ways you could accessorize this outfit. I went with a matching pink bag, but you could match any of the colors in the outfit. The Kendra Scott seashell huggie earrings are a great neutral addition without being overwhelming. I also kept my sandals simple with my favorite sandals of the summer, these clear studded sandals. At $15, I highly recommend grabbing these to wear into October and then putting them in the closet for spring. This summer, I’ve worn these more than my favorite Tory Burch Miller sandals!

LOOK 2: Transition Neons to Fall with 90’s Trends

For Look 2, I wanted to transition the Gigi Tank to fall, because you should be able to style all but the most special pieces at least two ways. Neon has been such a strong trend this summer, and that will be bleeding over into fall as well. When in that weird summer-to-fall transition time (fake fall? almost fall? fall but still hot?), layers are key. I took the Gigi tank and paired it was my Lilly Pulitzer Taye skort. Skorts are another 90’s trend that’s coming in hot for fall.

Once I started on the 90’s trends, I couldn’t start. I added a headband, jean jacket, and a belt bag.haha Now, the real OGs know that it’s fanny pack, but whatever. For a more modern feel, wear it as a crossbody, or you can go all-in on the 90’s trend on me:)

To dress this look up, I reached for my Chanel earrings Chauncey picked me up in Vegas over the summer. They’re an investment piece, but they literally go with everything. They instantly elevate any look. And I finished it all off with some braided heels.

Lilly Sale Picks

Since you can still shop the Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale sale today, here are some of my favorite pieces that are still in stock:)

Things to Remember for the next Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale

Everything can vary from sale to sale, but I try to take notes of things I notice each time to prepare me for the next sale.

  1. Use multiple devices to see which connection will let you into the sale the quickest. This time, I had the best luck using the app on my phone–I was in the sale in under 5 minutes! My laptop, Chauncey’s desktop, and the Chrome app on my phone all had 40+ minute wait times. This can change from sale to sale, though.
  2. This sale seemed to have most of the recent GWP (gift with purchase) items for under $20. Worth noting if you miss out on a GWP between now and the next sale.
  3. I could be completely wrong, but it seemed that there were a greater number of items (around 1800+ by the time I got in) with less quantity in sizes. That’s just a guess on my part.
  4. New items were added at 8 a.m. eastern time.
